ADMISSIONS 2024

Admissions to our School

Wigan LA will only offer ONE school place to each child, please ensure you select Our Lady's as your first choice in order to secure the best chance of being offered a place at our school. A pupil who was ranked 64th out of 64 was offered a place at our school because they placed Our Lady's as their first choice. If you would like to discuss your application please do not hesitate to contact us on 01942 832299.

For each new September intake there are 30 places at school for Reception Year children, if 30 children or less apply for a place ALL children who apply will be offered a place, however if more than 30 children apply, places will be allocated with reference to the school's Admissions policy. For more information please CLICK HERE

Frequently Asked Questions about Admission can be found by CLICKING HERE

In-Year Admissions

There are a number of reasons why pupils move school mid year, and as such places can become available throughout the year.

If for example, you are moving into the area and wish to make an in-year admission to Our Lady's, please contact the school office as soon as possible, to see if space is available in your child's year group.

Late applications/Preference changes

If you have not yet applied for a primary school place, or you wish to change your mind about the preferences or the order of preferences after the closing date, you must complete a late application form.

On behalf of the whole community of Our Lady’s, may I welcome you to our school website.

We hope that you will find all of the information you are looking for and that the website will give you an insight into the life at our wonderful school.

Being the Headteacher of Our Lady’s gives me great pleasure. I am fully committed to the community of Our Lady’s and strive to ensure that the school serves our local children and their families well.

I believe our school is very special. Our Lady’s enjoys a reputation as a happy and caring Catholic primary school. We are proud of our academic achievements, our friendly purposeful atmosphere and the extra curricular provision made available to our pupils.

We expect the highest standards from our pupils in all aspects of school life, in their attitudes to learning and in their behaviour. Our Lady’s staff are committed, talented and professional, providing a caring, safe and supportive learning environment for our pupils.

We try to encourage at all times an active partnership with parents, pupils, governors and parish to help ensure the best possible education for each one of our pupils.

We hope you like our website; however, if there is anything else you would find useful please let us know through the ‘Contact Us’ page. You are very welcome to visit and experience our outstanding school for yourself – learning and loving together; we grow with Jesus.

As headteacher, I am always able to make time to talk to parents, so please do not hesitate to ask.

I look forward to meeting you and your child.

Mr Chris Horridge

Headteacher

Sacramental Programme

Unfortunately, due to Father Kevin being unwell we had to postpone the Reconciliation Service for our Y3 pupils. Please rest assured that we are working with Salford Diocese to make future arrangements. We continue to keep Father Kevin, the children and families in our prayers.

Staffing

Mrs Rafferty has shared the exciting news that she is pregnant. We wish her family well at this special time. Senior leaders have already met with governors regarding a plan for academic year 2024/5. We wish her and her family well.
Headteacher interviews are underway and we will inform parents shortly of the outcome. Again governors have met frequently with Salford Diocese regarding this important position and the process has been rigorous which I’m sure will lead to positive outcomes for Our Lady’s.
