Being the Headteacher of Our Lady’s gives me great pleasure. I am fully committed to the community of Our Lady’s and strive to ensure that the school serves our local children and their families well.
I believe our school is very special. Our Lady’s enjoys a reputation as a happy and caring Catholic primary school. We are proud of our academic achievements, our friendly purposeful atmosphere and the extra curricular provision made available to our pupils.
We expect the highest standards from our pupils in all aspects of school life, in their attitudes to learning and in their behaviour. Our Lady’s staff are committed, talented and professional, providing a caring, safe and supportive learning environment for our pupils.
We try to encourage at all times an active partnership with parents, pupils, governors and parish to help ensure the best possible education for each one of our pupils.

Miss Anna will be moving on to another school in July, in order to take up her new post as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant. On behalf of the whole school community I would like to thank her for all she has done during her time at Our Lady’s over the last thirteen years, and for her great support for many wider school activities. Miss Anna has led our Performing Arts Club with passion and dedication for many years and has enabled the children to put on a wide range of excellent performances. She will be greatly missed by staff and pupils, and we wish her all the very best for her future career.
We also say goodbye to Mr Hesketh who begins the next stage in his career when he will start his training to become a classteacher. Throughout his time at Our Lady’s as a Teaching Assistant, he has always demonstrated the skills to become a fantastic teacher. We wish him all the best for the future in what will undoubtedly be a successful career.
Virtual Aspull Creative Curriculum Day
As you know we held our Virtual Aspull Creative Curriculum Day on Wednesday this week. All of our classes worked alongside children from Aspull Church. Seaside activities, embroidery and wellbeing were just a selection of the themes covered during the day. It was a really fantastic day, with the children experiencing a wide variety of activities and learning new skills throughout. A very big thank you to all the adults, staff and volunteers, for the tremendous effort they put into making it such a great event.

Last week, the children learned about different faiths as part of their RE curriculum. There were many wonderful activities going on throughout the classes.
It was a really inspiring week, and gave the children a great opportunity to learn about the various traditions. They have been developing their knowledge of Sikhism and Hinduism, the similarities and differences to Christianity, and learning about the importance of respect and valuing diversity.
FOOLS (PTA) Wellbeing & Disco Day
A reminder that tomorrow is our FOOLS (PTA) Wellbeing & Disco Day for school. Each class will be allocated a slot for music, dance and general merriment with DJ Miss Anna spinning the decks. All pupils will also be engaging in a range of activities that day which promote wellbeing.
If you would like your child to be able to wear their own clothes and participate in these activities please access Parentpay to action this item.
