Leading Parent Partnership

"Parents and carers who shared their views could not praise the school highly enough. One parent summed up the views of many, ‘All the staff go above and beyond to provide an outstanding education for our children’s futures.’" Ofsted 2023
Our LPPA Journey So Far
We were first awarded the LPPA in 2022, and since then, parent partnership has become a core part of our school’s ethos and everyday practice. It is now embedded in our policies, improvement planning, and wider school culture.
Our Current LPPA Focus 2024/2025
We are building on the strengths identified in our 2022 assessment and working on key development areas:
-
Continue to promote communication systems
-
Twitter, school website, and SeeSaw remain central to keeping families updated
-
-
Evaluate events and share impact
-
We continue to gather feedback on workshops and events, and share outcomes with parents
-
-
Collect informal feedback
-
We’re recording positive comments from prospective families and using this to reflect on induction experiences
-
-
Transition to high school
-
We’re exploring how to use the Y6 Leavers’ event to collect feedback and involve pupils in the transition process
-
-
Subject newsletters
-
We’re evaluating how these help parents understand the curriculum and support learning at home
-
-
Volunteer voices
-
We're looking to gather video or written feedback from FOOLS and parent volunteers to showcase the value of their contributions
-
Leading Parent Partnership Award (LPPA)
At Our Lady’s we are proud to be working towards our reassessment for the Leading Parent Partnership Award (LPPA) in the academic year 2024/2025. The LPPA is a national award that recognises schools that work effectively with parents and carers to support children’s learning, wellbeing, and achievement.
What Is the LPPA?
The LPPA helps schools strengthen the home-school relationship by:
-
Developing sustainable and effective partnerships with parents
-
Supporting parents in understanding and engaging with their child’s learning
-
Improving communication and involvement across the school community
-
Promoting inclusion, emotional wellbeing, and whole-school progress
"Parents are full of praise for the school and are fully recognised as the first educators of their children" - Catholic Schools Inspectorate 2023
Impact of the Award
The LPPA has provided a framework to:
-
Reflect on our work with families
-
Celebrate what we do well
-
Continue developing effective parent engagement, especially through digital tools
Parent partnership is now fully embedded in school life and remains a key focus in our School Development Plan.
