Due to our ongoing commitment to safeguarding, Our Lady’s R.C. Primary School has made the decision to stop using X (Twitter) as a platform for sharing and celebrating our successes.

We, alongside our community within Salford Diocese, are becoming increasingly concerned around the nature of content shared on the platform, including political material and the frequent use of artificial intelligence.

BBC's 500 Words Challenge

Watch Theo A Win the Gold Medal for the 8-11 age group in the BBC's  500 word story competition. Watch also Rob Brydon read Theo's masterpiece to the other 50 finalists chosen from 44,000 entrants in the Ball Room of Buckingham Palace. Well done Theo! 

ADMISSIONS 2026

Admissions to our School

Wigan LA will only offer ONE school place to each child, please ensure you select Our Lady's as your first choice in order to secure the best chance of being offered a place at our school. A pupil who was ranked 64th out of 64 was offered a place at our school because they placed Our Lady's as their first choice. If you would like to discuss your application please do not hesitate to contact us on 01942 832299.

 

For each new September intake there are 30 places at school for Reception Year children, if 30 children or less apply for a place ALL children who apply will be offered a place, however if more than 30 children apply, places will be allocated with reference to the school's Admissions policy. In-Year Admissions

There are a number of reasons why pupils move school mid year, and as such places can become available throughout the year.

If for example, you are moving into the area and wish to make an in-year admission to Our Lady's, please contact the school office as soon as possible, to see if space is available in your child's year group.

 

Late applications/Preference changes

If you have not yet applied for a primary school place, or you wish to change your mind about the preferences or the order of preferences after the closing date, you must complete a late application form.

I am honoured to be the Headteacher at Our Lady’s R.C. Primary School. We are a very unique and distinct school who enjoy excellent academic achievements as well as developing each child into life-long learners, ready to make a difference in the wider community.

 

We expect the highest standards from our pupils in all aspects of school life, including their attitudes to learning and their behaviour. I work alongside a fantastic and committed staff team who are passionate, talented and strive to go above and beyond for our pupils.

 

At Our Lady’s, we strongly encourage a positive and active relationship with our parents, pupils, governors and the parish to ensure our children receive the best education.

Presentation Day

Thank you to our children and families in Year 3 for their attendance at Presentation Mass, last weekend. Please keep the children in your thoughts and prayers as they begin their journey on the Sacramental Programme.

Young Voices

This Thursday, our fantastic choir will be joining many other schools at the Coop Arena to take part in Young Voices. We hope everyone attending has a brilliant evening!

Presentation Mass

Gentle reminder to Year 3 parents that this weekend is Presentation Mass for the children undertaking the Sacramental Programme.

Mass times:
Saturday 6pm Our Lady’s
Sunday 9.30am Our Lady’s
Sunday 11.15am Holy Family

We have been made aware of road closures close to Our Lady’s church on Sunday morning meaning parking could be difficult.

NSPCC Number Day

On Friday 6th February, we will be celebrating NSPCC Number Day. Children can come to school in own clothes with a number represented e.g. football shirts etc.

A payment item has been set up on Parent Pay for anyone who is able to make a voluntary contribution to the NSPCC.

Sacramental Programme

Gentle reminder to Year 3 parents wishing your child to begin their journey on the Sacramental Programme, the first welcome meeting will take place on Wednesday 14 January at 6pm at Holy Family Church.

Y6 Boosters

Year 6 booster sessions will begin on Monday 19 January straight after school. Children will be provided with a drink and a snack with sessions finishing at 4:45pm.
