Year 6 have made blood this week! They include: plasma, white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets.

We have been learning about the circulatory system and made model heart pumps! These showed us how the heart pumps blood around our bodies.

Year 6 have settled in really well and have been working on the place value of numbers up to 10,000,000 in maths.

Year 6 enjoyed working with Aspull Church School today! We explored VEX robotics, paper plate craft and created Frida Kahlo portraits 🤩

As part of our Changing Cities topic we have made clay pots and clay tokens. These were used to record how many jars of bitumen were being sent to Uruk.

Year 6 have been inventing machines to help them do the jobs they dislike doing, they then wrote and typed explanation texts to explain how these work. We had some very interesting inventions!

From the start of the new academic year in September 2026, all children (except Reception) will be expected to come to school dressed in their full PE kit on their allocated PE days, instead of their usual school uniform. School PE kit includes: · Navy PE shorts · Plain white t-shirt/white with navy capped sleeve PE top (preferred) · New School PE tracksuit – navy/white tracksuit bottoms and navy/white long sleeve zip jacket embroidered with the school badge

Year 6 are enjoying researching and designing fairground rides this week. They have created prototypes on Tinkercad and will use a coded crumble mechanism. Billy and Lucy are our Tinkercad experts! Well done 👏🏼
