What an exciting few months we’ve had in Reception!
Spring Term: Growing and Exploring In spring, our topic was all about growing. The children loved learning about how plants and animals grow, and we had a wonderful trip to Smithills Farm. It was an amazing day where we rode donkeys, fed the animals, and enjoyed a bumpy tractor ride! We also spent time learning about minibeasts, going on a forest hunt to see what tiny creatures we could find in their natural habitats.
Summer Term: People Who Help Us This term has been all about people who help us, and the children have been super busy! They’ve loved dressing up and taking on the roles of firefighters, police officers, and other important community helpers. We even began a fun DT project where we designed and made our own fire engines with Mrs Clarke. The children thought carefully about shape, colour, and how to attach the wheels – some fantastic creativity and problem-solving on show!
We’ve also had some special visitors from our community, including the Lifeboats, police, and a dentist, who shared their knowledge and answered lots of curious questions. It’s been a fantastic way to bring learning to life.
We’ve had such a brilliant time learning, exploring, and growing together. Thank you for all your continued support!
