Is your child eligible to free school meals?
Once your child enters Year 3 they are no longer eligible to receive free meals under the government's Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM) programme.
Either you will have to provide a packed lunch or you will have to pay for a school meal - currently priced at £2.35 per day.
If you or your partner are in receipt of qualifying benefits you could be entitled to Free School Meals - not only is this a potential annual saving of £446.50 to you, but it could also mean an additional annual payment to school of £1,300 to improve education and assist vulnerable pupils.
