YR- Week Commencing 14/9/26
This week, we have continued our learning on Elmer. The children blew us away with their ability to remember the key events of the story using our story map. We then did some writing in our books, recording the initial sound 'p' in 'patchwork'.
We have spent time this week familiarising ourselves with our names. The children used their writing packs to practise writing the letters in their names.
We have started our Phonics Programme this week. So far, we have learned the sounds 's', 'a', 'p' and 't'. The children built some CVC words using these sounds such as 'sat' and 'pat'. We have also been busy learning about counting in maths this week. Cheeky Charlie came to say hello and the children helped Charlie to count the objects making sure to remember our counting rules. We then moved onto counting in our heads as we listened to how many beats Cheeky Charlie played on his drum. What a super week!
