YR- Week Commencing 5/10/26

This week, we have continued our learning on 'The Colour Monster'. We have been experimenting with colour mixing and we found ways to make green, orange and purple. In phonics, we have introduced two new sounds this week- 'b' and 'c'. We have been practising our word building of words such as 'cat', 'bat' and 'cot'. Our letter formation has been super using our perfect pen grip! In maths, we have been exploring 'more than' and 'fewer than'. Our special friends Teddy and Monkey came to visit our maths lesson and we worked with our partner to decide who had more than and who had fewer than the other. We also started to look at ordering by size in continuous provision. We have been studying Mark Hearld's artwork this week. We spoke about his art work, describing what we could see in his winter collages and how each piece was similar and different to each other. Finally, in RE we have started to learn about Baptism. We ordered the events of Baptism and then explored our Baptism role play to act out a Baptism.
