Year 2 Weekly Blog – W/B 5th October 2026

It’s been another super busy week in Year 2! We’ve been working hard, learning new skills and having lots of fun along the way. 🌟

🔢 Maths – Fact Families

In Maths, we have been exploring fact families. We’ve been using part-whole models to help us identify different calculations using the same three numbers. We are learning how addition and subtraction are linked and how one part-whole model can help us write lots of different number sentences. Keep practising those number facts at home!

🎵 Music – Beat and Rhythm

In Music, we have been exploring the difference between beat and rhythm. We also learnt the musical words piano (quietly) and forte (loudly). We had lots of fun experimenting with sounds and practising how to control how loudly and quickly we performed. We are becoming fantastic little musicians! 🎶
